Project Summary
Modifications to the existing EMWD TVRWRF in Temecula, CA will increase the treatment capacity from 18 million gallons per day to 23 million gallons per day. Specific site improvements include:
- Headworks Expansion
- Blower Building
- Primary Clarifiers
- Aeration Basin
- Secondary Clarifiers
- WAS Thickening Chamber
- Tertiary Filters
- Chlorine Contact Basin
Our Role
IFE performed the design-level geotechnical investigations. Primary issues requiring mitigation related to undocumented fill, expansive soil, and corrosive soil.
Services:
- Geologic approval of excavation bottoms in bedrock formation
- Compaction testing of equalization basin embankment fill, linear subgrade, Class 2 permeable base, pipe bedding, and pipe trench backfill
- Sieve analysis, sand equivalent, and maximum density tests of trench backfill and imported pipe bedding
- Concrete cylinder compression testing
