Project Summary

Gerald Ford Drive was improved from approximately 450 feet west to approximately 550 feet east of Bob Hope Drive. Bob Hope Drive was improved from approximately 500 feet south to 700 feet north of Gerald Ford Drive. The project included two pavement reconstruction strategies:

  • Remove and replace existing pavement section with four inches asphalt concrete (with 1.5-inch TRMAC cap) over 10 inches of Class 2 aggregate base
  • Grind existing pavement and overlay with 1.5 inches of TRMAC

Our Role

IFE provided materials testing and observation during street improvements and the construction of a turn pocket on Gerald Ford Dr.

Services:

  • On-call compaction testing of pavement, sidewalk, curb/gutter subgrade, storm drain backfill, and class 2 aggregate base
  • Sampling and compaction testing of asphalt concrete
  • Concrete cylinder compression testing
